STEVENS, Ernest Leslie (Ern):
9th July 1928 - 8th February 2026
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Ernest at Southland Hospital, in his 98th year, with family by his side. Dearly loved husband and friend of Gaye, and the late Noeline. Treasured Dad, Father-in-law, Grandad and Great Grandad of Dianne and Ian McCall, Steven and Cara, Fletcher, Dawson and Baxter. Aaron and Nicole, Maddison and Paige; Colin and Lizzie, Brittney and Mason; Roger and Bronwyn, Lara and Tyler, Albie. Erica and Brook, Koa, Tui and Rocky. Keiran and Katie, Lockie and Harper; Pauline and Russell Foster, Hamish and Ana, Flynn and Arihia. Rhys and Maddy, Freddie, George and Jude, and Blair. Respected stepfather of Jacqui Paterson, Jayne White and Daryl Gellatly and grandfather to their families. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Southland Hospital for their loving care this past week. A service to celebrate Ernest’s life will be held in the Winton Presbyterian Church, Meldrum Street on Friday 13th February 2026 at 11.00am followed by Ernest’s burial at the East Winton Cemetery. STEVENS, Ernest Leslie:
Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Dorothy* and Bert* Cockeram, Connie* and Peter* Thomson, Shirley* and Nick* Morait, Fred* and Judith* Stevens, Joy* and Neil* Hawkes.
(*denotes deceased) Dearly loved Uncle Ern of his nieces and nephews.

TODD, Suzanne Jane:
Peacefully, on 4 February 2026, in the warmth and love of her home. Dearly loved daughter of Selwyn* and Carol* Goble. Deeply loved wife of Allan Todd. Much loved mother, mother-in-law and Nana of Matthew and Rachael Todd, and Aleisha and Thomas Racz; treasured Nana of Myla and Joshua. Much loved by her brother and family: David and Judy Goble; Anna, Albie and Matilda Ford; and Chris Goble. Loved and remembered by all her family and friends. After a courageous battle with MS, Suzanne passed away surrounded by family and love. A private service has been held in her honour. Heartfelt thanks to Southland Hospice, Florence Nightingale, and the MS Society for their care and support. THOMAS, Hazel Meree:
Peacefully after a short illness, Hazel got her angel wings. On Tuesday 10 February 2026, in the care of Southland Hospital. Dearly loved wife of Brian, loved mother and mother-in-law of Trudi and Doug, Michael and Kerryn, Nicola and Michael, and Earle and Maree. Adored grandmother of Dylan, Sophie, Danielle, Courtney, Jordan, Sam, Samantha, Cameron, and Renee. A loved great nan of Kaleb, Emelia, Aria, Eddie, and George. Loved sister of Kathie*, and Sam, and sister-in-law of Jean, Maureen, and Colleen*. A loved Aunt of all her nieces and nephews. A great friend to many, including the late Kerry Thomas.
Rest In Peace
A service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be held in the St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 21 Rimu Street, on Friday 13 February at 2:30pm. The rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at the family home, 22 Edinburgh Crescent, Waikiwi, Invercargill at 7:00pm.
