COWAN, Roger James:
After a courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease, Roger passed away peacefully on Wednesday 24th December 2025, aged 62 years. Dearly loved son of Lorna and the late Bob (Robert) Cowan. Much loved brother of Trevor (Alexandra), Neville and Rita (Ashburton), Garry and Fiona (Rangiora), and Natalie and Trevor Cooper (Christchurch). Loved Uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Family sincerely thank all of Roger’s carers, neighbours and friends, staff of Hospice Southland, staff of Longwood Care Home, for their compassion and care of Roger. As per Roger’s wishes a private cremation has been held. A Memorial Service for Roger will be held on Saturday 17th January 2026, 2pm, Waiau Town and Country Club, Tuatapere. In lieu of flowers, donations to Motor Neurone Disease NZ would be greatly appreciated and can be left at Roger’s service. GALLOWAY, Barney:
Late of Wanaka, Riversdale and Gore. Passed at home with familyon December 27 2025. Dearly loved husband of Joan, father and father-in-law of Carol & Peter Riddle (Edendale), Mick & Debbie (Perth), Paul & Faye (Alexandra) and Colleen (Palmerston North). Special Grandad and Great Grandad Barney to Dale, Simon, Helen, Mackenzie and Franklin, Jenna, Reuben and Eva, Rachel, Kaine, Ada and Beau, James, Jess and James and Tom.
