TIPU, Elaine Mary:
Surrounded by her loving family, our precious Elaine passed away peacefully on 12 January 2026 at Hospice Southland, Invercargill. Beloved daughter of the late George and Jenny. Deeply loved wife of Boof. Cherished mum and mother-in-law of Jendi and Billy, Shay and Annabel, and Jade. Adored sister of Raymond and Trish*. Devoted fur-mum to Floyd, who will miss her dreadfully. Loving grandma of Levi and Kiriama, Josh and Meg, Shaquille and Lilly, Keahn and Jorjah, Soul and Madison, and Izayah; treasured great grandma to Niwa, Nui, and Chicago. A service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at The Salvation Army, 20 Victoria Street, Invercargill, on Saturday, 17th January 10.00 am, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be appreciated and may be left at the service. The family sincerely thank the Hospice staff for the care, love, and support shown throughout Elaine’s illness. WALTHO, John:
Born 17 February 1942 – Died 11 January 2025
John passed peacefully at Southland Hospital on Sunday, 11 January 2025, aged 83 years. Treasured father of Karen, Rhiannon, and John Paul (deceased). Respected father-in-law of Neil and Paul. Loved grandfather of Jonathan, Hayley, Sean, and Dominic, and proud great grandfather of baby Eleanor. As per his wishes, a private service to celebrate John’s life has been held.
