FRY, Brian William:
Passed away peacefully, aged 92 years, at Lady Wigram Retirement Home, Christchurch. Formerly of East Brent, Somerset, England and Invercargill. Dearly loved only son of Edwin and Eva Fry. Beloved and cherished husband of the late Hilary Fry (née Wilson) Much loved father and father-in-law of Yvette and Paul, Jeanette and Steve, John and Leeanne, and Anne and Steve. Treasured grandfather of his grandchildren and their partners, Olivia and Rob, Ben, Danielle and Nigel, Jonathan and Tania, Christopher, Jessica, Caitlin and Mark, Ella and Jorden, Emma and Anna, and Breyton and Farrah. Adored great-grandfather of Minnie, Rylee, Gus, Elsie, Fletcher, and Oliver.
Our dearest Dad, you’ll be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
Family sincerely thank the staff of Lady Wigram Retirement Home for their loving care of Brian. A service to celebrate the life of Brian will be held on Monday 8th June 2026, 1.30pm in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill. Interment at Eastern Cemetery will follow. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dad after an almost 4 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Bill was the loving husband of the late Veronica for 52 years. Devoted Dad to Michelle (Australia), Anton and Van (Vietnam), Leeza, and Amanda and Blair, and Katrina adored Grandad to Stevie, Patsy, Luke, and Zain (Australia); Cameron; Mikayla, and his 8 great grandchildren. Bill was the loved brother to his 10 younger siblings, adored uncle, cousin, and respected friend to many.
Now at rest he can join Mum for snacks and watching his favourite - the Rugby
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 fox Street Invercargill on Tuesday 9 June at 10.00am, the service will conclude with interment at the East Winton Cemetery – all welcome.
