A sheep farmer from Hedgehope, known for his love of veteran and vintage car restoration. Dearly loved husband of Cecily (Lea). Loved dad of Hamish, Amanda, Tania, and Lyndon and Grandad of six. GERKEN, George Gavin:
Passed away peacefully Thursday June 11, 2026, at Southland Hospital, surrounded by his loving family aged 89 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Lois, loved and devoted father and father-in-law of Sandra and Paul Chrystall, Darryl and Kerrie Gerken and loving grandad of Taryn, Alyssa, Hayley, and Jayden, loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Passed away on Tuesday 9th June 2026, surrounded by family. Loved wife of the late Bert Lunn. Loved mother and mother in law to Ross and Sharon, Grant and Debbie, Craig and Jo, and Andrea and the late Marcel. Loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
