FREDRIC, Margaret Holland Joyce:
Passed peacefully with family at Rowena Jackson on Saturday, 16th May 2026, aged 93 years. Dearly beloved wife of Ron for 68 years. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Anne Keehan, Ken and Meg (and the late Hazel), Russell and Lesley, Loved Grandad of the late Michael, Shane, and Stevie Fredric; Naomi, and Ben Keehan; and loved Great-Grandad of Nate, Mia, Mabel and Leo. Loved sister and sister-in-law of *Jim and *Pearl Fredric, *Valmay and *Keith Crawford, *Margaret and *Bill Simmonds; *Cyril Roe and former wife Alison Roe. Loved Aunt of all her nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held in J Fraser and Sons’ Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill on Wednesday 20 May at 10am followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. KING, Alexander Steven (Alex):
Peacefully, with his family by his side at Southland Hospital.
Aged 94 years young.
Alex has finally got to use his creation, delivered safely into the arms of his loving late wife, Lorna, on her 90th heavenly birthday, on Friday, 15 May 2026.
Much loved father and father in-law of Stephanie and Richard McPhail, *Scott, Matthew and Melissa, treasured Grandad of Maggie and Hayden, Chelsea and Hamish, Molly and Ethan, Ben and Briana, Ella and Nick.
Adored Great-Grandad (GG) of Tully, Murphy, and Barney.
A real character to the end, a builder, a gold miner, a hard case, an inventor and a man whose adventures are finally over.
He has hung his nail bag up for the last time, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, grit and humor.
"Thanks Dad, for the massive legacy you have left us all, forever remembered by all who loved him"
A service to celebrate Alex's colourful life will be held in the Gore RSA, Bowler Ave, on Wednesday, 20 May, at 1.30 pm, followed by light refreshments.
Private cremation thereafter.
Donations can be made at the service for the Gore Hospital Staff.
