BENNET, James McCrorie (Jim):
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Southland Hospital, Invercargill, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved and loving husband of Nareen, amazing Father and Father-in-law of Anthony and Kazuyo, Michael and Anita, Kathryn and Hamish. Loving Grandad and Great Grandad of Tye and Janine, Julia and Sophie, Angus and Madi, Elliot and Emma, Seth and Dante. Loved Brother and Brother-in-law of Elizabeth and Allen, Mary and Allister, Marlene and Paul*, Carmel* and Bill*. Much loved by all his nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Wednesday 15 April at 1:00pm, private cremation to follow. McCORMACK, Mavis Muriel Isabel:
Mavis passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, aged 91 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Neil. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Marilyn and the late Charles de Thierry, Lindsay and Gayle McCormack, Barbara and Andy Morris, Julie and Robert Cope, Cherie McCormack and the late Barron. Cherished nana of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mavis’s life will take place on Wednesday, 15th April, 1.00 pm at The Salvation Army Church, 29 Victoria Avenue, Avenal, Invercargill. Please check with the family re Livestream.
