DENNIS, Martin Christopher:
Of Woodlands. Passed peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Thursday 12 February 2026, in his 82nd year. Much loved husband of Pam. Loved father and father-in-law of Chris Dennis, Nicky and Ross Wells, Andy and Fi Dennis, Jo and Paul Johnstone, Brendan and Netty Dennis. Loved Pop of Daniel, Samantha, Bex, and Kirsty; Laura, and Logan; Hare, Livvy, Riley, Meadow, and Peyton; Katie, Jack, and Gracie; and Great-Pop Martin of Tommy, Ellie, James, and Bella.
RIP
Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Theresa's Catholic Church, Perth Street, Invercargill on Tuesday 17 February at 2:30pm followed by interment at Woodlands Cemetery. According to Martin's wishes, bright colours are to be worn. GOVER, Mark Ashwin Stephen Paul:
At home, where he wanted to be, after an unexpected illness, on 7 February 2026. Mark fought with courage, faith and grace until he was sadly taken from us. Dearly loved and cherished husband and soulmate of Roberta (Bobbi). Loved father of Daniel, Elodie, Justeen, Larissa and Mallory, and much-loved stepfather of Lauren. A treasured father-in-law to Jeremy, Tino, Dylan and Lincoln. Adored grandfather and great-grandfather. Dearly loved brother of Rod and Roberta (Berta), and brother-in-law of Marty and Wendy. Mark was a clever craftsman and passionate do-it-yourselfer who loved cars and the beauty of nature. His love, care and generosity will be treasured by so many, and he will be deeply missed. GUISE, Alyth Margaret Ethel:
With deep love and sadness, the family announce that Alyth Margaret Ethel Guise (nee McDonald) of Gore peacefully passed away in Gore Hospital surrounded by loving family on Sunday 8 February 2026 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Graeme, treasured mother and mother-in-law of Malcolm and Heny, Kozett and Richard, Joanne and the late Martin, cherished Nana and Great-Nana, precious sister and sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt, adored and dear friend to many. A private family cremation and interment of ashes were held at Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill in accordance with Alyth’s wishes. Special heartfelt thanks to the warm and caring staff of the Gore Hospital and Gore Health Centre for the professional and warm support of Alyth and her family. GUSTELL, Peter Fordyce:
Pete has finally laid his last brick, on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, at Longwood Rest Home, Riverton, after a long and very courageous battle. Ten days after his 82nd birthday. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Margaret for 60 years and 11 months. Much loved and respected father of Lindsay and Karen, and Dave. Loved grandfather of Morgan, Ben, Scott, Damen; and Lily-Ana. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Leslie*, Brian and Suzanne, Murray* and Susan, June* and Alan*, and Anne and Peter; Robert* (Sonny), and Keith Caithness. Loved son of Annie* and Peter*. Loved uncle and cousin. Special friend to Jason and Penny, Jayde and Adam. A great friend to many. Now at peace.
As per Peter’s instruction, a private cremation has taken place, and he is now “Looking Back” on his full and wonderful life.
