BRISCO, Kaye Janette - nee McFadzien:
Passed away peacefully at Southland Hospital on 30th Jan 2026, aged 77 years. Beloved 'Fudgie' to Cam for 56 years. Mum and mum in law of Kent and Shannon, Shannon and Aleksandra, and Rebecca and Will. Granny of Rupeni, Phoebe, and Lina. Youngest daughter of Ewan* and Phoebe* McFadzien and later Jessie McFadzien* , sister of Keith* and Carol. Sadly missed and remembered fondly by many. BROWN, Ian Maurice (Brownie):
Has played his last end in his final bowling tournament on Tuesday 3rd February 2026, passed away at Hospice Southland, aged 69 years. Peacefully in Jan’s loving arms, with his family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Jan for 42 years. Much loved and respected father of Liam and Alyce. Treasured Grandad of Ella, Barron and Soren. Beloved brother of Barry and Val. Loved son in law of Bob and Linda* Stevenson. Loved brother in law of Rex and Andrea Stevenson. Dearly loved by his nieces and nephews, and his extended family of Jolene, Taylah, Jared, Piper, Eli and Rico. Good friend, coach and mentor to many. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be gratefully appreciated and can be left at his service. A service to celebrate Ian’s life will be held on Wednesday 11th February 2026, 1.30pm in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill. CUSHEN, Judith Ann:
Judith passed away peacefully on Monday 2nd February 2026 at Rowena Jackson aged 87 years. Loved sister of Avis and Harry Bray, Cecily and Robert Grant. Loved aunt of her nieces and nephews. EGAN, Winifred (Anne) nee McCarthy:
After a long illness, Anne passed away in the care of Ascot Bupa, Invercargill on Thursday 5th February 2026. Dearly loved wife of Terry. Respected mother and mother-in-law of Bede and Natasha, Jackie and Andrew, Anton and Melissa, Jenny* and Brendon Hargest, William and Debby. Grandmother to Frank, Sam, Charlotte, Ben, Anabelle; Emma, Kate, Patrick; Harrison, Lachlan, Alice; Hannah, Aiden, Brooke; Ryan, and Greer. A Requiem Mass will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 84 Great North Road, Winton on Tuesday 10th February at 10.00am followed by Anne's burial at Wreys Bush Cemetery. GILES, Margaret Anne (nee Murchland):
Passed away peacefully after a long battle, Surrounded by her loving family at Bupa Windsor Park Care Home on Wednesday February 4, 2026. Dearly loved wife of Murray, much loved mother of Joyce and Grant Hurley, treasured Grandmother of Jonathan and Aleisha, Paige and William, Sam and Ella, and Great Grandmother of Robbie, and Quinn; Boston, Lincoln, and Meadow. PRICE, Shirley:
Peacefully, in the loving care of Johnstone Wing, Clare House, on January 29, 2026, aged 82. Dearly loved wife of Gordon for 63 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Lynda-Marie and Colin, Michelle and Malcolm, Joanne*, Brendan and Tui, and Alistair. Loved Nana, Grannie, and Great Grannie of all her grandchildren. ROONEY, Avon Colin (Colin):
976241, RNZIR 1st Battalion, Malaya 1960-1964
Sadly, passed away at his home with his dearly loved wife and best friend Janice beside him, on Friday 30 th January 2026, aged 84 years. Father of Dallas, brother of Aileen McKeagg (Canada), Valmay Shuttleworth (Christchurch), brother-in-law of Diane and Graham Blue, Lorraine and the late Jim Marshall (Rangiora). Respected uncle to his nephews and nieces. As per Colin’s wishes, a service has been held. “Lest We Forget”.

TAYLOR, John:
Tragically, as the result of an accident, on January 30, 2026; aged 44 years. Dearly loved son of Murray and Beverley, loved brother and friend of Bradly, and Belinda*, special grandson of Hilda* Taylor, Eric* and Melva* Gillett, treasured nephew of his aunties and uncles, and a popular and much-loved cousin.

WEDDERBURN, Nicholas:
Taken so tragically on February 1, 2026, aged 27 years. Beloved son of Cedric and Charmaine, grandson to *Don and Gaye and *Sharon and Lynton Gielink. Brother and brother-in-law to Christopher, Emily and Summer-Grace, and friend to all that knew and met him. Collected by ministering angels and now in the arms of the lord and saviour, which gives us great comfort.

YOUNG, Eric:
The sudden and peaceful death is announced, after a very long illness bravely borne, of Eric John Young on Monday, February 2, 2026. Eric was born on 15 August 1947 in Invercargill, Southland, the second son of Bill and Joyce Young of Carfax, Mossburn, Southland, and educated at St Andrew's College, Christchurch, New Zealand. He lived the majority of his working life as an air traffic controller in Australia (Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland), Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong. Eric is mourned and desperately missed by his wife, Denise, son and daughter-in-law, William and Mary, and his two grandchildren, Zabelle and Raffi, and many other members of their families and friends. His funeral will be held at St James the Less Anglican Church in Mount Eliza, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
