Dearly loved wife of *Ian Aitken, loved only daughter of *Jock and *Annie Taylor (nee Gunn), loved sister of Evan and Julie (Australia). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Barbara and Malcolm, Adraian and Martin Stott, Selena and Thomas Aitken-Boyle, and Stephen Aitken, much loved Nanny and Great-Nanny Margaret of Rebecca, Luke, and Lochie; Caleb, Ashleigh, Emily, Paige, and Macey; and Kristie (Caribbean); *Blake, Libby, James, and Quinn; Cameron, and Taylor (London), and Sean, and Conor (Australia). The family would like to thank the staff of Holmdene for their kindness and compassion they showed towards Margaret and Dr Visagie for your guidance and wisdom on the care of our Mum has been appreciated. “Robins Return”.

BEER, Mervyn Albert:
On August 29, 2022, peacefully at home, as he wished, surrounded by his loving family, in his 91st year. Dearly loved husband of Phyllis for 67 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Lindsay and Sheryl, Neville and Trish, Geoffrey and Julie, Nigel and Jayne, and the late Bronwyn. Following Anne’s passing in August of 2021, and being unable to hold a public funeral in lockdown, Michael and the family warmly invite those who knew Anne to her Memorial Service on Friday the 9th of September 2022 at Beersheba Estate, 58 Millton Park Road, 2pm. There will be an afternoon tea and an opportunity to gather and connect following the service. BROOKLAND, Richard Edward (Dick), 33451 Cpl. NZ Infantry:
Passed away peacefully at Clare House, Invercargill, aged 92 years on Tuesday, 30th August 2022. Dearly loved husband of Iria and father and father-in-law of David & Billie, Bob & Lesley, Lorraine & Ian Marshall, Allan & Margaret, Christine & Andrew Jackson and Mark & Liane. A much loved & adored grandad, great grandad & great great grandad. The family wish to thank sincerely the staff at Clare House for their love & care of Dick. Peacefully on August 25, 2022, at Windsor Park Rest Home, Gore. Aged 93. Dearly loved wife of the late Alick and mother and mother-in-law of Joan Olsson and Neil Irwin*; Diane Hall and Ken Harris, and Norman Hall*; and Bruce and Julie Campbell. Much loved and respected grandmother of Adrian and Cyrielle Olsson; Scott, Michelle, and Stephanie Hall; Lauren and Tim Winsloe, and Jamie Campbell. Loved great-grandmother of Dane, and Skye Hall; Declan, and Callen Winsloe. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Eileen* and Bert* Wilson; Campbell*, Margaret and Dorothy* Macdonald; and Ivy and John Keenan*. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning August 30, 2022. Aged 87 years. Much loved and loving husband of Patsy. Loving grandfather to Steven, Aron, Stephanie, Bradley, Sammie, Emma, Shauni, Georgia, Baillee and Sophie. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at J Fraser and Sons, Cnr Esk and Doon Sts, Invercargill, on Monday, September 5, 2022 commencing at 10.30am. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, August 28, 2022, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Garth. A loved mother of Allen Kirby and Joy Freemantle, Ian and Sally, Jan and David du Mez. Loved grandmother of Denham, Jesse, Zane; Sam; Christopher, Jake, and Liana du Mez. Thankyou to all the caring staff at Rowena Jackson, Dr Pearce and Dr Rambukwelle. A service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held in the Lindisfarne Methodist Church, 22 Lindisfarne Street, Invercargill on Thursday, September 1 at 11.00am.
