27/10/54 – 24/10/22
Dearly loved wife of Keith for 49 years and 4 days. Loved Mother, Mother-in-Law and grandmother of Jason and Amy, Kane*, Zara and Blake; Vanessa*, Astaria, and Melodie (all of Christchurch). Loved Daughter in Law of Merle* and Albert*. Stephanie passed away peacefully in the care of Rowena Jackson staff in the Edinburgh and Salisbury wings. A service of Remembrance will be held for Stephanie at the Southland Crematorium on Friday 28th October at 3 pm. Please wear rainbow colours as per Stephanie’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be appreciated. 27/10/1954 – 24/20/2022. Dearly Loved Daughter of Frances* and David* Bartlett (Balclutha). Cherished Big Sister of Elizabeth and David Balloch (Invercargill), Robert and Jennifer Bartlett (Wellington), and Rosemarie and Bill Reynolds (Gore). Stephanie was a dearly loved Auntie, Great Auntie, Niece Cousin, and Friend to many and she will be sorely missed by all. Now resting peacefully. We love you dearly Stephanie and will be missing you forever.

DILLON, Sylvia Noelene (nee Kelly):
Passed away, surrounded by her family, at Longwood Care Home Riverton on Sunday 23rd October 2022; aged 94 yrs. Dearly loved wife of the late Keith Dillon and much loved mother and mother in law of Pam and Ray Fleck (Thornbury), Lynette Hourston and the late Ian and Bill Ussher (Earnscleugh), Gail and Phil Ward (Tasmania), Lesley and Ross Carter (Lorneville), Roger and Denise (Invercargill), Raewyn and Alex Fallow (Otahuti), Susan Dillon (Invercargill), Sandra and Peter McLean (Otatara), Robyn Dillon and Damon Campbell (Waitati), Lex and Paula (Nelson) and the late Paul. A very special grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother and a much loved aunt. Sylvia will be resting at 490 Thornbury/Waimatuku Road. A service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held in the Riverton Combined Church, Palmerston St, Riverton on Thursday 27th October at 1.30pm. Interment to follow at the Riverton Cemetery. MONTGOMERY, James Wilson (Monty):
Passed away peacefully on Sunday 23rd October,2022 in his 82nd year. Loved husband of Phillipa, loved and respected father and father-in-law of Liz, Hamish and Mel. Much loved Grandad Monty of Keira, Claire, Livy, and Angus. “A true gentleman to the very end”. Heartfelt thanks to Darren and his special team at Rata Park. SCHOFIELD, Nancy Mateen, (nee Traill):
Formerly of Stewart Island. Passed peacefully at Rowena Jackson on 23 October, 2022, aged 94. Loved wife of the late Murray. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Carolyn and John Conrad, Robyn and the late Jim Jenkins and David, Kevin and Michaela, Peter and Denise, Jeffrey and Louise. Loved Nana ‘Scho’ of Mark, Kiri, and Jane, Curtis, the late Mateen, and Haley, Geremy, Matthew and Tyne, and all their partners. Loved Great-Nana ‘Scho’ of her 21 great-grandchildren. A very special thank you to the staff at Rowena Jackson for their kindness to Nancy and her family. Rowena Jackson was Nancy’s happy place for five years.

Loved sister of the late Olive, the late William, and Alexander. A Requiem Mass to celebrate Bill’s life will be held in the St. Mary’s Basilica, 65 Tyne Street on Thursday, 27th October at 1:00pm, the service will conclude with the burial at the Eastern Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the church on Wednesday, 26th October at 7:00pm.
