RICHARDSON, Peter Joseph:
Peter died peacefully in the kind and respectful care of Hospice Southland on January 25, 2022, after a short illness, aged 81. Dearly loved husband of the late Helen Richardson and a very much-loved father and father-in-law of Louise Richardson and David Cowie, Philip and Teresa Richardson, Simon Richardson and Tracey Wayte. Peter will be deeply missed by the grandchildren of whom he was so proud: William, Isabella, Harrison, Dominic and Lewis. He was the cherished brother of Christine Brady and their sister, the late Marie Turner. Peter was also respected and loved as an uncle by all of his nieces and nephews. Peter has been cremated, in accordance with his wishes, and when covid allows, we will gather together to remember his love of travel, music and cinema, his community service and his very genuine connection to many fellow Southlanders. Cut flowers only please, and donations to Hawthorndale Care Village in Peter’s name would be appreciated. The Richardson family would also like to acknowledge the incredible kindness Peter received from his and Helen’s wonderful group of close friends during a very difficult year, following her death in February 2021.
