WICKS, Barry Ronald. Peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Southland Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Aged 79 years. Dearly loved and cherished husband and companion of Elva. Loved & cherished father and father in-law of Terrance, Adrian, Brenda*, Sandra and Grant, Quinton and Abbie. Loved Grandfather and Great Pop of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loved son of Mona Wicks* and loved grandson of Oswald* & Rene* Chalker (Australia). Loved Brother of Betty* Adrian and Gary* (Australia). Loved Nephew, Uncle and Great Uncle of all his extended family in Australia. We as a family would like to thank all the staff at Southland Hospital and Caregivers for their wonderful care of Barry. A service to celebrate Barry’s life will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 2.00pm, in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. SIMMERS, Jennifer (Jenny). Peacefully, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by her family, aged 74 years. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of David (Wanaka), loved mother, mother-in-law and Grandma of Jeff and Kath (Waikoikoi), Tom, Ben, and Angus; Kath and Dave Keown (Raes Junction), Millie, Harriet, and Stella; Al and Joanie (New Plymouth), Amy, Caitlin, Indie, and Asher. A service for Jenny will be held in St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Tenby Street, Wanaka, on Friday, August 24, at 1.30pm, private cremation to follow. Late of Queenstown. Passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018, at Windsor Care Christchurch, in her 99th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Bill. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Heather and Jim Coombs, Louise and the late Don Jelley, Bruce and Mary Matheson, and the late Neil Matheson. Loving Nan of Gary, Donna, and Correna; Daryl, and Tania; Hamish, Scott, and Daniel. Will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her 2 great-great-grandchildren.
