24.6.1931 – 15.5.2022. Peacefully but unexpectedly at Wyndham Rest Home on Sunday, 15th May 2022, in her 91st year. Loved wife of Ian*, and Neville* and friend of Frank. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Dale & Annette, Robin & Carol, Ayleen & Gary, Valerie & James, Judith, Sandra and their families. Loved Nana, Great Nana and Great Great Nana of all her grandchildren. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Ken Johnstone, Arthur* Johnstone, and Margaret* & John* Cody. CRACK, George Andrew Alexander:
Sadly passed away at the Christchurch Hospital on Monday, May 16, 2022 due to complications after a fall at his home in Tinwald, a week prior. A dearly beloved husband of the late Ursula, loved father and father-in-law of Stephen and Janine, Carrie (Caroleen) and Cheryl, Sharon and Albert, Pip (Philippa) and John. Cherished Pop of Kate, Dylan, Bec, Ethan, Jess, Lauren, Alicia, Aalia, Jaydan, Harrison, and Koby, and his 6 great-grandchildren. A special friend and mentor to Chris, and friend to many. A service to celebrate George’s extraordinary 92 years will be held at St Andrews Anglican Church, 151 Tompson Street, Tinwald, on Saturday, May 21 at 9.30am. In-line with George’s wishes, he will then take his last drive to Invercargill to be interred at the Easton Cemetery on Sunday, May 22, at 10.30am. The family would welcome his many southern friends to farewell him.

DUTT, Phyllis Lana (Lana) (nee Lawton):
On Saturday May 14, 2022 at Bupa Care Home in Riverton. After a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Loved mother of Asha and friend of Mayor Tim. Loved grandmother of Declan. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Evan and Lynn Lawton ( Queenstown.) Loved daughter of the late Esmè and Noel Lawton. Aged 75 years. Died peacefully May 14, 2022, at Fergusson Rest Home, Upper Hutt, aged 91 years. Formerly of Orepuki, Southland. Dearly loved wife of Brian (deceased), loved mother of Sandy Denize, Robyn and Hylton Tuckett, Steve and Gillian Higgins, Dianne and Craig O’Styke, Jeanette Higgins (deceased), Julie Higgins, Peter Higgins, her 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. McIVER, John Leonard:
Passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at home, Gore. Loved and cherished husband of the late Avis. Much loved dad of Linda and Colin Watts (Tasmania), David and Jill McIver (Perth), Mary-Anne and Roger Bone (Dunedin), Karen and Oliver Scott (Auckland). Loved Step-dad of Tom and Lorica Horne (Alexandra), Leanne and Tony Latta (Oamaru), Brent and Adele Horne (Gore), Richard Horne and Wendy Prestney (Gore). A much loved grandad and great-grandad of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (peacefully) in her 94th year, on Saturday 14 May 2022, at Rowena Jackson. Dearly loved wife of the late John Sturman. A service for Rowa will be held at Windsor Community Church at 1.30pm on Thursday 19 May. After the service the funeral cortege will leave for the Eastern Cemetery.
