In Memoriam
Mervyn Ryder – “Merv from Makarewa” 16 February 2021 – One year ago today you left us, Hugely loved best friend and devoted husband of Karen, much loved and respected Stepdad, Grandad, Brother, Uncle and Friend
107 days were all we had
And you told us not to be sad
You lived your life day by day
Never shy to have your say
I miss your hugs, I miss your snores
I miss your laughter that filled our home with noise
Your love of your famous orange hat
Your dirty gumboots on the mat
You were always there to lend a hand
To advise and understand
Whatever challenges you faced
You conquered with dignity, courage and grace
We had something special you and I
That something that money could not buy
Your not being here makes me feel so blue
My life is empty without you
My heart shattered into a million pieces
When I had to say goodbye
My tears still flow
Oh, how l loved you so
I miss you Merv
More than you will ever know
