GORTON, John Lewis. 3 September 1933 – 8 October 2018
John slipped away peacefully in the early hours of Monday
morning at Southland Hospital. Much loved husband of
the late Joan, father of Alison, and John, the late Wendy,
and Christine. Dearly loved grandfather of Danielle,
Stephanie, Jason and Toni. Deep appreciation to the
wonderful staff on surgical ward for looking after John and
keeping him comfortable in his final days. A service to
celebrate John’s life will be held in the Avenal Park
Chapel, 75 Fox St, Invercargill on Friday 12 October at 11

SHANKS, Michael (Mick). Peacefully after a battle with dementia, in the wonderful care of Peacehaven, on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Dearly cherished husband of Raylene, loved and respected stepfather and grandad Mick of Katherine, Bruce, Georgia, Jackson and Tessa Ryder; Melissa, Brendon, Sophie and Charlotte McLellan (all of Dunedin); and Liz, Mario and Eva Shlimon (Wellington). A service to celebrate Mick’s life will be held at the Invercargill Crematorium Chapel, Rockdale Road, Invercargill, at 1.30pm, Thursday, October 11. Messages to 98 High Street, Invercargill. KERERU, Hollie-Jayne. Tragically passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, in her 33rd year. Loved wife of Joshua, and devoted mother of Ranginui, Terina, Daniel, Toa and Tamamoko. Loved granddad of Jonathon, Azroy, Centayne, Câri, Dylan, Geordie and Lucas. Loved son of the late Sylvia and Benjamin Williams, and loved brother of Margret*, Glynne and wife Anne, and Colin (all of Wales). A celebration of John’s life will be held in the Masonic Hall, Forth Street, Invercargill, on Thursday, October 11, at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation.
