Of Tapanui. Peacefully at Dunedin Hospital with family at his side; in his 74th year. Dearly loved husband of Lorraine, loved father and father-in-law of Michael and Laura (Helsinki, Finland), William and Jules, Emily, and Kris Donovan, and adored grandfather of Luca, Elsa, Eva, Zack, Hannah and Ben. Loved brother of Geoffrey, Tony, Rodney, Chris, Susie, and their families. In accordance with John’s wishes a private cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Tapanui Community Centre on Friday, March 6, at 1.00pm. Peacefully in his sleep, at home, on Friday, February 28, 2020, aged 37 years. Dearly loved and cherished husband of Janelle, devoted father of Ethan Jay, and loyal companion Sally, loved son of Eddie and Judy, loved brother and brother-in-law of John and Andy, Georgina and Kerry, and a much loved Uncle of James, Sam, and William. Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer at Hospice Southland on Monday, 2 March 2020.  Beautiful Irish soulmate and best friend of Lynne.  Loving and proud father of Timothy, and Daniel, special friend of Jenny, and Kristina.  Loved son of the late Michael John and Mary-Ann Ferguson (Ireland).  Adored twin brother of James (Jimmy) and his 10 brothers and sisters (Ireland).  Loved and adored son-in-law of Lois and Peter Dryden, brother-in-law of Susan and the late John MacDonald (Christchurch), John and Jocelyn Dryden (Australia).  Dearly loved and adored uncle of all his nieces and nephews around the world.  A Requiem Mass to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held in the St Thérèse of Lisieux Church, Perth Street on Thursday, 5th March at 2:00pm followed by a private cremation.  A huge thank you to Peter Wards and the staff of Hospice Southland for your special care of Johnny.  Thank you to Bernadette and Debbie for your support.  Messages to 73 Catherine Street, Windsor, Invercargill 9810
