ENGLISH Kevin John (Kelly):
Passed away peacefully at Ascot Care Home, Invercargill, aged 90 on Friday 26th August 2022. Dearly loved husband of the late Gladys. Much loved father and father in law of Diane and Bob, Chris and Sharon. Loved Grandad to Kylie, Ben and Kelly , Sarah and Guy, Holly and David and Jack. Loved poppa and great grandad to Archie, Gus, Jasper, Harriet, Valentina and Max. Thank you to the staff of Ascot Care Home for taking such great care of Kelly. A service for Kelly will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Church , 84 Great North Road Winton, on Thursday 1st September, 2022 at 1pm. A private interment will follow. GOOMES, Peter Godward:
Of Stewart Island. Died surrounded by family after a brave battle with cancer, aged 84. Loved and treasured by the late Jeanette, wife Donna Goomes, children Tony Gomez, Donna Fry, Doug Gomez, and their families. Loved brother of Wendy Hallett, Rosemary Taiaroa, Michael Goomes, Simon Gomez, and extended whanau. A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held in J Fraser & Sons’ Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill on Wednesday 31 August at 11am. A memorial service on Stewart Island will follow at a later date. Heartfelt thanks to Southland Hospital and Hospice Southland for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made at the service or online. MAWHINNEY, Marie Aileen:
Passed away peacefully on Saturday August 27, 2022. Much loved and loving wife of Kerry and loving and cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to John, Tammie, Mark and Clare, Laurence and Katie, Bridget, Ben and Tilly and Max and Sonny. Marie will be at home until her funeral service at J Fraser and Sons Chapel, cnr. Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill, at 1-30pm, on Thursday September 1. Private cremation to follow. Of Clyde, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Kim and Matt; and Jason and Heather. EDWARDS, Archibald David (Pana):
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Gore Hospital, surrounded by his loving whnau. Dave is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of nearly 61 years, Leora, and their children, Mihi Louise, Amua, David*, Rulon and mokopuna Harawira, Leah-Star, Moses, RD, Roman, Wiremu, Bluu, Goldey, Rubious and Pearl. His mokopuna tuarua, Liko, Florence; Skylah, Luna, Lily, Reko, Marine, Koda, Leilani. Loved in-laws of Campbell, Geggy, Vanessa, Star and Juliette, Andrea, and Mel. Pana will lay in state at the Homestead, 15 Stuart Street, Mataura, where whnau and friends are welcome to come and pay their respects. A service to celebrate Pana’s life will be held at 11.00am, Thursday, September 1, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 270 Main Street, Gore, followed by his interment at the Mataura Cemetery. Of Invercargill, passed peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022, aged 91. Beloved wife of the late Jim. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Stephen and Liz, Allison and Greg Bundle, and Jan Whelan. Dearly loved Nana and Great-Nana of Sam, Eddie, and Charlotte; Myah, Kyrin and Alyce with Beaudon and Violet; Jamie and Cristy with Sabella and Jack, Kasey and Greg with Malin, Piper and Steven. Loved daughter of the late Joe and Sylvia, and sister of the late Alyse and David. In accordance with Noelene’s wishes, a private service has taken place. Peacefully in Cromwell on Saturday, August 27, 2022, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of Eileen and the late Betty, loved father and father-in-law to Linda Agnew (Invercargill), Lorna and Russell Maslin (Timaru), Wendy and David Thwaites (Edendale), Julie Collins and Chris (Christchurch). Loved step-father to Ray and Barbara Moffat (Alexandra), Trish and Neil Bulling (Cromwell) and Graeme Moffat (Te Anau). A much loved grandfather and great-grandfather to his many grandchildren. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, August 28, 2022, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Garth. At Rowena Jackson, Invercargill on 28 August 2022 age 93. Wife of the late Ronald Lancelot Walker QSM. YEAGER, Brenda Fay (nee Mills):
1954 – 2022
A good soul passed on Sunday afternoon 28.08.2022 at Southland Hospice. Brenda has been a warm presence next to me her husband for 48 years. Always a caring, loving person with an absolutely good soul. One of the most kindhearted persons I have ever known. She loved babies and kids, animals and Mini the cat. Never an unkind word to anyone and always willing to give a helping hand. A very proud owner of the Hibiscus Driving Miss Daisy business that started in June 2014 with no customers and by sale date in May 2021 had successfully grown to 5 cars. It was a perfect fit for her, she loved helping people and in every annual customer survey received the highest rating of excellent. But to Brenda being the best mum to her two sons Nic and Rowy had more meaning to her and she was a wonderful mum, followed closely by an immaculate well kept house and a great cook/baker. It was too soon at 65 years having already fought off breast cancer 12 years ago but after palliative chemotherapy, succumbed to stage 4 terminal bowel cancer and passed at Southland Hospice Sunday afternoon August 28, 2022. Hospice staff were gold. She will be forever remembered as a lovely, kind, warm hearted person. All communication to [email protected].
