Loved adopted daughter of Duncan* and Ruth Brown*, foster sister of Patricia and Eric, Charlie and Lorna. Maternal daughter of William* and Ivy Clarke*, loved sister of Grace and Mervyn*, Noel* and Doreen, Phyllis and Keith, Mike and Pat*, Alexander*, Donald and Jackie*, Trevor and Merlyn, Brenda and Gavin. BROWN, Shirley Joy. (formerly of Invercargill) Peacefully at Leslie Groves Hospital on November 24, 2018, aged 81 years. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Rose Brown (Christchurch), Tina Koch (Dunedin), Ged Brown (Gisborne), Duncan and Linda Brown (Hastings) and Glenn and Leona Brown (Invercargill). 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Very special thanks to the Taieri Unit staff and Barbara Dineen (Chaplain) for their loving care and support of mum over the past four years. A celebration of mum’s life will be held at the Leslie Groves Chapel, Taieri Road, Dunedin, at 1.00pm, on Thursday, November 29, followed by interment at Green Park Natural Burial Site. A Requiem Mass to Celebrate the life of Avon will be held in the St. Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Church, Perth Street on (Today) Tuesday, 27th November at 11:00am the service will conclude with the burial at the Eastern Cemetery.
