O’CONNOR, James Joseph (Jim). Passed away peacefully at Resthaven Village, Gore, on Sunday, March 17, 2019; in his 89th year. Dearly loved husband of Lorna, loved father, father-in-law, and Grandad of John and Debbie, Sam, Rory, and Kelsey (Rotorua); Liz and Ritchie Clark, Michael, Daniel, Matthew, and the late Abby (Balfour); Margaret and Richard Power, Hemi, Riki, and Miriama (Australia); Sharon and Roger Collins, Simone, Libby, and Troy (Gore); Trudy and Barry Roughan, Natasha, Kirsten, and Luke (Mandeville); Karen and Brian Smith, Jordan, Genna, and Callum (Balclutha), and a loved great-Grandad. R.I.P. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Ardwick Street, Gore, on Thursday, March 21, at 1.30pm, then leaving for Riversdale Cemetery. STALKER, John Gilbert. 03.02.1952 – 17.03.2019 With heavy hearts we are devastated at the loss of an exceptional family man, after a tragic accident on February 20, 2019. Loving and devoted husband of 42 years to Linda. Cherished father and father-in-law of Mark and Maxine (Lumsden), Michelle and Geoff McElrea (Wanaka), Brad and Sarah (Duntroon), Jackie and Bevan Jones (Hedgehope), and the most fun loving Pop to Jack, and Charlotte Stalker; Ted, Hadley, and Lochy McElrea; Fred, Sid, and Matilda Stalker; Charlie, Max, and Isla Jones. A service to celebrate the life of John will be held in the Mossburn Community Centre on Thursday, March 21, at 12.30pm. Private cremation to follow. Words cannot express how grateful we are for the care and consideration given to John and his family by all the staff at Dunedin Hospital ICU, the Otago Rescue Helicopter, Owaka First Response, Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance. van GAMEREN, Peter Anthony. Of Invercargill, formerly of Roxburgh. Peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Southland Hospital with his family at his side, in his 87th year. Dearly loved husband of Jeanne. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Marianne and Dave Sommerville, Yvonna James, David, the late Sonya and Steve Canning, Tony and Kathryn, Donna and Lindsay Burns, and loved stepfather of Carl Hopkinson and Jeff McLarn, loved father-in-law of Simone Hopkinson, and Debra McLarn.
