Dearly loved husband and best friend of the late Betty (who passed on August 19, 2019) for nearly 68 years, and dearly loved and special Dad and father-in-law of Maureen and Mark Gane (Invercargill), Gerard and Frances (Auckland), Peter and Pip (Palmerston North), Stephen and Charlene (Leithfield), Maree and Murray Gray (Wellington), Katrina and Brent Borcoskie (Sefton). Loved Poppa and great-grandfather of Michael and Siena, Nicola, Matthew and Dylan, Andrew, Jo, Cameron and Ellie; James; Matthew and Timothy; Jack and Jessica; Catherine, Raponi and Noah, Robbie, Hannah and Georgia; Tessa and Katie.

Suddenly at his second home, Fiji, on Saturday, September 7, 2019, aged 69 years. Dearly loved husband of Kaye (Blossom), loved father and father-in-law of Brett and Leah and Kali and Scott MacDonald, adored Grandad of Whitney and Lei, Clay, Bronte; and Van, loved great-Grandad Barry of Miciah and Noah. Loved eldest son of the late Frank and Joyce Dawson, loved older brother of Steve and Cheryl, a loved brother-in-law and uncle. Passed away on September 14, 2019, aged 73. Much loved father and father-in-law of Dean and Esther Hyde, Todd Hyde and Stephanie Salvatori, grandfather of Eva Grace and Elijah Hyde, son of the late John and Violet Hyde, brother and brother-in-law of Valerie, the late Beverley, Alister and Carol, Graeme and Lesley, Murray and Jeanette, David, and uncle of nieces and nephews and much loved friend. There will be a celebration of Rob’s life from 2.00 – 4.00pm, Wednesday, September 18, in Rangiora, 25 Palm View Drive, and his Burial at 3.00pm, Saturday, September 21, at the Eastern Cemetery in Invercargill, followed by refreshments at 114 Kew Rd.

Peacefully at Hospice Southland on Sunday, September 15, 2019, aged 37 years. Dearly loved son of Shirley (Hale). Passed peacefully after a short illness at Resthaven, Gore, on Monday, September 16, 2019, surrounded by her family. Dearly loved wife of the late Noel Ross. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Karen Broome and Gill Richardson, Stanley and Eve*, Gavin and Donna, Doug and Sally, Errol and Janine, Keith and Tania, Brent and Kylie Penson, respected mother-in-law of Ray Broome. Loved and cherished Nana and Great-Gran of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a much loved sister, sister-in-law and cousin. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes a private graveside service will be held. Dorothy will be resting at 201 Paterson Road, Waimumu, until Thursday 5.00pm.
