DEANS, Lois Ellen Lydia. Peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Dunedin Hospital, aged 78 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Fred, loved mother and mother-in-law of Terry, Mark and Carol, Shane and Holly, and Wendy, loved Nana Lowy of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, adored Mum-Lowy of Joanne. FLORENCE, Dorothea (Dora) Watson nee Middleton. After a long illness, in which she showed much grace, humour and resilience, Dora passed away in Invercargill in the early hours of 11 August 2018, with Gill and Suzy at her side. Dora is the much loved Mum and Grandora of Sandy, Sandra, Kate and Maddie Florence (Taupo), Gill Rutherford (Dunedin), and Suzy, Frank, Tim and the late Dan Wells (Invercargill / Niue). Born in Tarves, Scotland on 13.1.30, Dora was the daughter of Nan* and Fred* Middleton, and sister to Alfie*, Ethel, Gladys, Charlie*, John, Paddy, Sandy, Murray, Aileen*, Toot* and Allen* (* deceased). Dora and her husband Dr Leslie Florence, emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand, with their three children in 1966. Dora trained as a Teacher and had an absolute lifelong love of teaching and learning. It is fitting that she has chosen to donate her body to the Anatomy Department at the University of Otago, so that others can continue to learn. Our thanks go to all those who loved Dora. It has been heartening to hear, from numerous people, that their visits with mum were invariably blessed with a compliment from her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora’s name to one of her favourite charities ‘The Fred Hollows Foundation’ – giving sight to Pacific Peoples. Being the private person she was, Dora’s wishes are for a private family farewell. ROSE, Helen Christine Forrest. On August 11, 2018, after a courageous battle in the care of Dunedin Hospital. Of Northope and formerly of Waianiwa. Dearly loved wife and best friend of David. Treasured Mum of Hamish and Mark. Fun loving Granny to Leon. Cherished daughter of Ken* and Coral Forrest (Invercargill). Dearly loved sister of Winston Forrest (Arrowtown); Cynthia Forrest (Wellington); Grant Forrest (Waianiwa); and Fiona Forrest (Lochiel). Cherished daughter-in-law of Preston* and Reta* Rose of Spar Bush. Dearly loved sister-in-law of Sharon and Brian Kirker (Makarewa). Adored Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. ROBINSON, Elspeth Florence (nee Lockhart). On August 10, 2018 at Mossbrae Rest Home, Mosgiel; aged 82 years. Loved wife of the late George, a cherished partner of Richard Cull, a dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of *Jill and Lewis Glasson, Sally and Robin Baird (Waihola), Cheryl and Nigel Faulkner (Dunedin), Michelle (Invercargill), and Richard Cull’s family. A special Grandma of Garrick, Travis and Rebecca, Mitchell, Kingsley, Henri, Alex, and Destiny, and a Great-Grandma of her 5 great-grandchildren.
