Passed away peacefully on Friday 28 June 2019, aged 84 years, surrounded by his loving family. Loved father and father in law of Michael Blomfield and Marlys Smith, Gregg Blomfield and Alison Young, Lisa and Frank Dawson, Illona Wood and Kelly Baggott. Loved Grandfather of Brandon, Nathan, Samuel, Leah, Timothy, Claudia, Michael, Samantha, Zoe, and Jacob. A Funeral and Celebration of Phil’s life will be held on Tuesday 2nd July, 1.30pm, J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill. Interment at Eastern Cemetery will follow. Peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, with family by her side, on Thursday, June 20, 2019; aged 57 years. Much loved wife of Alex for the last 33 years. Daughter of the late Keith Hastie and Doreen Blackwood. Devoted and loving mother and mother-in-law of Evan, Megan and Barry. Cherished grandmother (Gan) of Brody. Sister to Kerry and Bromwyn. As per Sharon’s wishes a private cremation has taken place. Many thanks to Dunedin ICU doctors and nursing staff for all their hard work. The Meulenbroek family sincerely thank everyone for their kind words, cards, prayers, flowers, baking and thoughts on the passing our much loved mother, mother-in-law and oma recently. Thank you to those who attended mum’s superb funeral service, it gave us all great strength and hope at a difficult time. Thanks to all those who looked after us at Saint Patricks church. Special thanks to Father Vaughn Hook for his compassion, faith and love shown to both mum and all of us, she wouldn’t have wished for a better send off.
Thanks too to the Medical Ward hospital staff, and the Hospice, all of whom truly are wonderful people giving such kind care for the sick and dying in our community.
