Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2019, in his 91st year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Alison for 70 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Dianne and the late Allan Hillgrove, Austin and Sandra, and Robyn and Doug Stalker. Loved grandfather of his eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. COOK, David John (Cooky).
It is with incredible sadness and a heavy heart the Cook family advise the sudden passing of David on December 13, 2019; while working in Thailand, aged 59. He’ll be sadly missed by his daughters Jamie, Jennifer and Rebecca. Beloved youngest son of the late Elspeth and Bill Cook. Our hearts are full of gratitude when we say ”Many Thanks” to family members, friends, and neighbours for all acts of kindness and sympathy shown to us when Graham passed away. Special thanks to District Nurses Leigh and Bernie for their amazing care of Graham in his very long battle, also the wonderful Doctors and nurses at the Medical practice. Kevin and Ashleigh, from Hammond and Ryder, thank you for your compassion, guidance and professionalism; It made an extremely sad and difficult time much easier to bear. Many thanks to all who attended the celebration of Graham’s life. Especially those who travelled so far. We were overwhelmed by the numbers, as Graham would have been. The Hardiman family sincerely thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy, help and support both before and after Joan’s passing. To those who sent flowers, cards, letters, phoned, visited and bought food and baking, this was gratefully accepted. Your kindness was quite overwhelming. We would also like to acknowledge the excellent care that Joan received from St John and the staff at both Dunedin and Gore Hospitals. Lisa, Alyce, Harper, Madeline and our extended family would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness during Jocks illness and passing. The cards, texts, phone calls, food, flowers and hugs were greatly appreciated. Massive thanks to Ophy, Dave, Lloyd, Ratty, Bazza, Kirk, Hemi, Rob, Drew, Trevor, Reuben and anyone else that was involved in getting the Red Chev truck ready for Jock. Also your partners who I would say put up with many absences in your own home life for a few months to get it done. He was absolutely stoked to get a few drives and burnouts in it before his last ride on it!! I will be forever grateful to have seen the grin on his face after he got his last drive and burnout done. Huge thanks to the lads at Southern Mechanical Services that kept things going during Jocks illness it was much appreciated. Thanks to those that travelled great distances to be with us after Jock passed it was such a comfort to have you around at that time. Thanks also to Downtown Rod & Custom Car Club and The Lurkers for getting all their cars out to follow Jock on his last ride. It was a pretty overwhelming site to see you all!! Many thanks to Peter Noble for putting on a great service. Super special thanks to the beautiful people at Hospice Southland, your loving care for Jock and his family was beyond measure. There is no thank you big enough. Please accept this as a personal thank you to you all.

ORLOWSKI, Raymond Michael.
Marlene, Carmen, Kirsten, Trevor, Kevin, and families, would sincerely like to thank all the lovely people who have supported us during Ray’s illness and passing, with food, flowers, cards, messages, prayers and attendance at his funeral, which was greatly appreciated, and special thanks to the Waverley Bowling Club for their guard of honour, Ray would have been humbled. The wonderful nurses and doctors who attended Ray in hospital, the district nurses and Hospice Southland, they were all truly appreciated, as were all of Ray’s visitors.
