ADDIE, Wendy May (Wendy Strang) 09-07-1948 to 03-09-2018 After a battle with cancer Wendy passed away on 3rd September 2018. A funeral service was held for Wendy in Mackay, Queensland last month. At her request we are holding another ceremony in Invercargill so that her NZ based friends can have closure. Please join us at Sacred Heart Church in Waikiwi at 11am on Saturday November 3 to celebrate Wendy’s life.
HARPER, Phyllis Jean. At home, after a long illness, on Friday 19 October 2018, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of Gordon*. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Julie, and Leigh and Peter Brookland. Loved Grandmother of Jared and Nicola, Mikaela and Matthew, Caitlin and Ethan, and Brandon. Proud Great-grandmother of Xavier, and William, and beloved companion of her cat, Indi. A service for Phyllis will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Wednesday 24 October 2018 at 11.00am. The service will conclude with a cremation at the Southland Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Donna of Avenal Park Funeral Home showed dedication and professionalism to ensure our needs were met for Priscilla’s final journey. Our heartfelt thanks to Dean, Bubba, Mali, Fern and your exceptional team from the Te Rau Aroha Marae, your guidance and continuous food preparations that you provided for our family was greatly appreciated by each of us. This allowed our family to spend those final days by Priscilla’s side. To our family, Thank-You for making numerous trips down south to spend quality time with Priscilla, special thank-you to Aunty Marg for officiating Priscilla’s service, to our dearest niece and cousin Rosey Smith thank-you for always being there when we needed you!! Robin, Alister, Sue and Steve, Roger and Sue and their families would like to sincerely thank all those wonderful people who attended Jenny’s funeral, sent cards, flowers, food and messages of support during her illness and after her death on October 4, 2018. A special thanks to those who travelled long distances to be with us at her farewell. Thank you to Murray and Janice Gray for their wonderful care and support and for coordinating Jenny’s funeral which was such a fitting tribute for Jenny. All of this support meant a lot to Jenny and her family and enabled us to celebrate and give thanks for such a wonderful life well lived.
