Passed away suddenly but peacefully at home, after a short illness, surrounded with love, aged 72 years. Dearly loved and adored husband and best friend of Sue. Loved father and father in law of Kris and Siobhan, and Matt. Loved stepfather and stepfather in law of Brendon and Monique. Loving Grandad of all his grandchildren which he adored. Loved brother and brother in law of Bryan and Jan, and Terry. A private graveside service was held on Thursday 15th December 2022.

BLACK, John Spiers:
On December 10, 2022, at Dunedin Hospital. Dearly loved partner and friend of June Tempelman, loved father and father-in-law of Rondin and Lynda (Australia), Janette and Glenn Thompson, and the late Kelvin, and a dear friend of June’s family, cherished Grandad John of Haydn, and Logan (Australia), and Keaun, and a much loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

BOYD, William John (Bill):
Bill passed away in his vegetable garden doing what he loved, with his boots on, on Monday 12th December 2022, aged 86 years young. Loving husband and soul mate of Jeanette for 63 years. Much loved father and fixer of all things of Angela and Stuart Holden, Robert and Awhina Boyd, Grant and Leonie Boyd, Tracey-Ann and Duncan Barr, and Kirstine and Jason Slade. Loved Grandy of Bryleigh and Logan; Leeana, William and Michael; Lorelei, Dayna and Trista; Olivia and Emma. Loved Great Grandy of his 17 great grandchildren. Bill was a loved brother, brother in law and Uncle.

14 October 1951 – 14 December 2022
With much love and sadness we wish to announce Jean’s passing at home following a long illness. Much loved by her partner Dennis and his children Amanda, Vicky, and Chantel. Born March 22, 1956, died peacefully of cancer at home in Wharewerawera (Long Beach) Dunedin on the morning of December 14, 2022, as the sun rose and the birds sang. Sister of Jack and Peter van Dingenen. Wife of the late Craig Stoddart, mother of Lewis, Angie, and Joseph Stoddart. Nanny to Dawn, Helen, Isaac, Dylan, and Leo Stoddart. Whaea to many. FAIRBAIRN, Constance Margaret (Margaret):
Dave, Jan, Craig and families would like to thank everyone for their support after the recent loss of our wife, Mum and Nanna. Carolyn, Rhys, Ashleigh, Pat, Chevaugne, Blake, Bindi and families would like to acknowledge the expressions of sympathy shown to us following our sad loss of Nathan. Dianne and Murray Acker, Yvonne and Peter Scobie and families wish to express their sincere thanks to all who came from far and near and to those who joined with us on ‘livestream’, to Neil’s service and made it a wonderful farewell. He touched all of our lives in so many ways in whatever relationship we had with him whether it by family, Church life, through farming, Livestock Improvement (cows), community involvement (on so many levels) in excellence in all he did through his wit and humour and long service to his community and The Lord: there was not enough time to elaborate on all of his involvement through the many years in either of this part of Dad’s life. Thank you to Lynley McKerrow for leading the service and to all who gave eulogies. Thanks to Peter Kennett for leading the hymn and to Arieta and the Kerr family for their musical tribute. Thanks to Darrin and the team at J Fraser & Sons for his and their caring help in preparing Dad and organising the burial of his earthly body. Thank you so very much for the multitudes of phone calls, text, emails and cards with their kind comforting words that epitomised Dad’s very being. Thank you for the glorious floral tributes that adorned our base for some time with fragrance and beauty. Your comforting thoughts and expressions are so very uplifting and humbling. Thank you for the food donated (who’d have thought our neighbour is such a fine brownie cook!). It was such a privilege to have been a part of Neil’s life and it is with love we remember him and will treasure our memories forever. He was a blessing to us all! Thank you! Please accept this as a personal acknowledgement of thanks from the family.
