ANDREWS, William Bruce. Peacefully at Bainswood On Victoria, Rangiora, on Friday, January 11, 2019, in his 98th year. Formerly of Titiroa, Fortrose and Rangiora. Dearly loved husband of the late Gladys Irene. Loved dad of Lindsay, Elizabeth, and families. Dearly loved husband of the late Noeline Eva. BENNETT, Rosemarie (Rose).  11-11-1942 to 03-01-2019. Beloved mum, mother-in-law, nana, great nana, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.  Rose died peacefully at Calvary Hospital after a short illness.  A big thank you to the wonderful team at Calvary and the Hospice team for their support and care.  Thank you to the Avenal Park team for all their support, and to all of our family and friends for their love and support.  As per Rose’s wishes, a private service has been held.  Messages to 114 Janet Street, Invercargill 9812. BREEN Janice Eileen (nee Monaghan). Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 8 January 2019 surrounded by family and friends at home.  Dearly loved wife of the late Leo Breen.  Much loved Mum and Mother-in-law of Lee-Anne and Peter Cooper, Julie and John Watkins, Matthew and Helen (all of Gore), Kevin and Kirstie (Greymouth), loved and cherished Nana and Nan of Jessica, and Mallory; Sam, Ryan, and Connor; Coen, and Finn. ‘Rest In Peace’ A private service for Janice was held on Friday. CADDIE, David Moir. Passed away in Tauranga on January 5, 2019. Aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband and constant companion of Jean (nee Grant) for over 65 years. Loved uncle of Ann Noordhof (Christchurch), Rosalind Halton (Newcastle), and great-uncle of Katia (London). In accordance with David’s and family wishes, a private service has already taken place.

EVANS, Gary. Died suddenly on Monday, January 7, 2019, at home, Tapanui. Loved son of Mary and the late Taffy Evans (Tapanui). Loved brother and brother-in-law of Janet and David Lietze (Mossburn), Jason and Jane Evans (Tapanui). Loved uncle to Josiah, Zachary, Elijah, Siobhan and Jordan, Sian, Rhiannon, Ieuan, Cerys and Gethyn, and great-uncle to Jade and Noah. ‘Sadly Missed’ A private graveside service for Gary has been held at the Tapanui Cemetery. McKECHNIE, Hilda Jessie. Passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Nelson, in her 98th year. Adored wife of the late Allan for more than 70 years. Much loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Alastair and Jennifer McKechnie (Maryland, USA), Ross and Celia McKechnie (Nelson), and Jane and Peter Egan (Brisbane). Loved grandmother and great-grandmother of her 7 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. At Hilda’s request a private funeral service and interment, with her beloved Allan, has been held in Nelson.

McREA, Shirley Ellen. Peacefully at home on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Doug. Loved and treasured mother and mother-in-law of Trevor and Julie, Gaylene and Bernie, and the late Ian. Loved nana Shirley to Kurt and Katie, Jade and Paul, Kendra and Daniel, Nicole, Christopher and Emma. A loved great-grandmother. As to Shirley’s wishes, a private service will be held. MURCH, Charles Niven (Niven). On January 7, 2019, peacefully in Nelson, aged 87 years. Loved husband of Thelma, and the late Shirley. Loved father of Carolyn, Phillip, Christine, Stephanie, and Peter. Loved brother of Alan, Wayne, Neccia, Marlene and David and Neil (deceased). Loved Poppa of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At Niven’s request a private cremation has taken place.

MURDOCH, Jeffrey Walter (Jeff). Peacefully, with family by his side and after a short battle with cancer and in the care of Calvary Rest Home, on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Loved father and father-in-law of Simon and Anna and step-father of Diane and David Howe, Cate, and Donna. Loved Gamby of Lucy, Jake, Raley, and Mia. Loved brother of Lucille, Patty, Beverley, Lance, Shane*, and Floyd. Loved best friend of Shona and friend of Beverley. A service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, on Tuesday, January 15, at 2.00pm, the service will conclude with the interment at the Eastern Cemetery. PEARCE, Newry Mourne (nee Brown). Passed away peacefully at Takitimu Rest Home on Thursday, January 10, 2019. While holding her hand our precious mother, in her 90th year, gently breathed her last breath. Mourne was the dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Grant and Allison (Tasmania), Jane and Peter (Brisbane), Bruce and Jacki, Carman and Larry, Maurice and Julia. An adored grandmother of Desyne, Joanne and Richard; Tina, Deanne, Aaron and Hannah; Angela, Kelly*, Craig*, Kelsey and Christine, and all her great-grandchildren. A private cremation has been held. BULLMORE, Doug. July 1945 – November 2018. Doug’s family would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the past few months of Doug’s illness and his death. Your flowers, cards, letters and baking were heart-warming to receive. A special thank-you to his doctors, Dr Alan Wright of Dunedin and Dr Matthew Stokes of Lumsden for their professional care of Doug over the past twelve years. Thank you to everyone who visited Doug in Clare House and in the hospital. He was always delighted to see visitors arrive and it was a real pleasure for him to have people to talk to. The staff of Clare House and at Southland Hospital were always very professional, caring and helpful.
Thanks to everyone who came to Doug’s funeral and made it a service that reflected everything that he loved. To the Balfour Lions Club and the Gore Aero Club, thank you for the guard of honour and also to the Aero Club for the very moving fly past. Finally to Rev Chris Rodgers and to David Fraser of Winton & Districts Funeral Services, thank you for making Doug’s farewell special for us all.

CROWE, Noni Patricia. Greg, Deborah and Duncan, Barry and Debbie, Gillian and Dan, and Vanessa and their families, wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, relations, neighbours and well wishers who delivered food, visited our home, attended the funeral and burial service and provided practical support for us at this difficult time. FRASER, Kenneth (Ken). Robyn, Paul, Carmen and families wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for the love and support following the recent passing of Ken. We very much appreciated the flowers, food, cards and messages. Also thank you to Christine Hansen and Affinity Funerals for the love, care and guidance at this sad time.
