While holding her hand our precious mother, in her 90th year, gently breathed her last breath. BULLMORE, Doug. July 1945 – November 2018. Doug’s family would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the past few months of Doug’s illness and his death. Your flowers, cards, letters and baking were heart-warming to receive. A special thank-you to his doctors, Dr Alan Wright of Dunedin and Dr Matthew Stokes of Lumsden for their professional care of Doug over the past twelve years. Thank you to everyone who visited Doug in Clare House and in the hospital. He was always delighted to see visitors arrive and it was a real pleasure for him to have people to talk to. The staff of Clare House and at Southland Hospital were always very professional, caring and helpful.
Thanks to everyone who came to Doug’s funeral and made it a service that reflected everything that he loved. To the Balfour Lions Club and the Gore Aero Club, thank you for the guard of honour and also to the Aero Club for the very moving fly past. Finally to Rev Chris Rodgers and to David Fraser of Winton & Districts Funeral Services, thank you for making Doug’s farewell special for us all.
