Thank you to our extended family members, friends, workmates and neighbours for all your support during the twelve months (and prior to that) before Mum’s passing. Lorena was especially grateful for all her dear friends who visited, brought meals, took her on outings, did small messages for her and kept her laughing and enjoying life. Thank you so much to the staff of Resthaven Village and Helen Glynn of Hospice Southland for your care of Lorena during the progression of her illness; we are extremely grateful for the respect and compassion she received. Thank you to Kevin and Marie from Hammond and Ryder Funeral Services for your wonderful support and helping to make a difficult time easier, sharing some good laughs with us along the way. Huge thanks to Paul for leading the celebration service and to Olive, Sue and Sarah for speaking so beautifully for Lorena. Thank you to Cheryl Anderson for singing Lorena’s chosen song for us, and the Mataura RSA for the afternoon tea. To the Hokonui Celtic pipers – Jeff, Brendan, Troy and Paul – thanks so much for playing at Lorena’s last outing; it really meant a lot to us and made it a true-to-form Turnbull event. We did not get to speak to all who attended the service – thank you all for being there for us and Lorena, and also for your kind donations to the Eastern Southland Plunket. It was the farewell that Mum planned and would have truly enjoyed. Please accept this as a heartfelt acknowledgement from us all for all the wonderful support we have received.
