DANN, Dennis Edward. On August 9, 2018. Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Radius Millstream Resthome, Ashburton. In his 92nd year. Leaving behind his beloved wife Patricia Mary, having just had their 59th Wedding Anniversary, and also leaving his darling children Susan (Oregon), Bruce (Methven) and Neil (Oregon), and their respective families Richie, Mark, Jack, Dean, and Maxine; Linda, Janna, Nicole, Caleb, Mia, and Liam; Deidre, Lily, and Kellen; and great-grandad of Jaidon and Quin. Loved big brother of Maureen and the late Barney Carrell (London). A loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews in London. Loved brother-in-law and uncle of the Brown side of the family (Queenstown). A memorial service to celebrate Dennis’ life will be held All Saints Church, cnr MacKenzie Drive and Ruataniwha Road, Twizel, on Tuesday, August 14, commencing at 1.00pm, followed by interment of ashes at the Twizel Cemetery, and thereafter a gathering at the Twizel RSA.

ROBINSON, Kathleen Anne. Our dear wee mother died peacefully in her sleep at Calvary Hospital on Friday, August 10, 2018, in her 105th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Les. Mother and mother-in-law of Deirdre and Jock* Jolly (Alexandra); Elizabeth and Ken* Baggott; Ian and Frankie (Wellington); Helen and Ronnie Watson; Kathy Heissenbuttel and Paul*; Michael and Patty (Tapanui); Christine and Mack* Te Moananui; Marie Bingham and Kevin. Dearly loved Mama of her 26 grandchildren,
38 great-grandchildren and  1 great-great-granddaughter.

A Requiem Mass for the life of Kathleen will be held at St Patricks Catholic Church, corner View and Rimu Streets, Invercargill, on Thursday, August 16, at 1.00pm. EVANS, Trish. Of Alexandra, aged 71. Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, at Ripponburn Rest Home, Cromwell, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Wife of the late Jack, Trish is survived by her loving sons Dale and Lee, her daughter-in-law Angela, and two grandchildren Lucas and Alyssa. Joyfully passed away at Hospice South Canterbury, Timaru, on Thursday, August 9, 2018, after a courageous journey of many years, at rest at last. A celebration of Beverley’s life will be held at Trinity (Temuka) Presbyterian Church, Hally Terrace, Temuka, on Tuesday, August 14, at 1.30pm. At Beverley’s request please dress colourfully. SPENCER, Basil Carmen. Peacefully at Vickery Court Rest Home, Invercargill, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Loved eldest son of Jeannie (dec) and Carmen (dec) Spencer, late of Nightcaps. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Melva and Brian Tattersfield, Yvonne and Gordon (dec) Smith (Feilding), twin brother of Lesley and Jack Smith (Ohai), Neville and Daphne, Robyn (dec) and Margaret (Tauranga), Desiree (Wellington). Loved uncle of all his nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the staff of Vickery Court Rest Home for the wonderful care Basil received and the fun times he had with them. A private cremation and family service has been held for Basil, but a memorial service will be held at Southern Lakes Funerals, 1076 Frankton Road, Queenstown, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 1.00pm. GILLESPIE, Donald Gordon. 2.5.1951- 4.7.2018 Joan, Jonathon, Barbara, John, Margaret, Carey and Tansy wish to thank everyone who attended Donald’s service and to those who gave donations to Hearing Southland. Thank you to those who sent cards, texts, flowers, baking and cooking, it was appreciated so much. Thank you to Avenal Park Funeral Home and to Lynley McKerrow for the lovely Service. A special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at Rehab Southland Hospital who cared for Donald in his final days. Also to Hospice Southland and to Cancer Care at Mercy Hospital. And last but not least thank you to Donald’s mates who spent so much time with him and helped keep his spirits up.
