BROWNING, Barrie Alexander:
On July 17, 2020, at Nurse Maude Hospice, Christchurch, with his family. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Rhonda. Loved Dad and father-in-law of Kirsty and Aaron, Ashley and Ruth. Amazing Grandad Baz of Hannah and Liam. Eldest son of the late Alex and Joyce. Cherished family member of the late Jim and Sheena and the extended Barclay Clan. Special thanks to the Nurses and support staff at B.M.T.U Christchurch Hospital and Nurse Maude Hospice. COOK, Stephanie:
Slipped away at Palm Grove Rest Home in the early hours of Saturday, July 18, 2020, in her 69th year. Stephanie’s was a life dominated by struggle, overcoming adversity and continually defying the odds, living a fulsome life as well as she was able. Dearly loved daughter of the late Bill and Elspeth Cook (Dacre), sister of Derek and Eleanor Cook (Te Anau), Joanne and Lex Wohlers (Otama), Stuart and Jeannie Cook (Winton), Janet and Ricky Larsen (Arrowtown), David Cook (dec), Allison (dec) and Denis Cocks (Christchurch), and a special aunty of Gretchen, and Bede Cocks (Christchurch), and a much loved aunty of her many nieces and nephews. One of life’s characters, Stephanie will leave an indelible mark on those who were close to her and knew her character intimately. In this regard, the family would like to thank the Carers and Nurses of the Palm Grove Rest Home who battled with her, laughed with her, and exchanged opinions about many aspects of daily life. 29.03.1930 – 17.07.2020
Aged 90 years. Passed away peacefully after a short illness at Southland Hospice, surrounded by his family. Dearly loved husband of Anne and loved father and father-in-law of Susan and Graeme Clyma, Diane Homer and Chris Terpstra, Chris Homer and Jan Spriggs, Jane and Geoff Gorton, Megan and Vic Haggerty. Cherished Grandad of Brent, Gary and Emma, Amy and Scott, Tristam and Kim, Calum and Tash, Maddy, Sam and Shay, Olivia and Craig, William, Loren, Georgia. Adored Great-Grandad of Nikita, Dominic, Connor and Finley. Rosary to be held Monday July 20, 7.00pm, 61 Rosewood Drive. Requiem Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Church, Tuesday, July 21, 1.00pm. McKINNEL, Margaret Mary (nee Knowler):
Of Roxburgh, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Friday, July 17, 2020, aged 86. Dearly loved wife of Bruce*, loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Trudi; Clare; David*; Anne and Paul; and Jane and Steve. Treasured Nana of Jonty, Tiaan and Stacey; Jake and Tracey; Kane and Brooke; and Keagan and Cohen. Loved daughter of Madeline* and Henry* and a loved sister and sister-in-law. Requiem Mass for Margaret will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 71 Scotland Street, Roxburgh, on Thursday, July 23, at 1.00pm, followed by burial at the Roxburgh Cemetery. Passed peacefully on Sunday 19 th July 2020 at Southland Hospital aged 88. Cherished husband of the late Zelda. Loving father and father in law of John & Debra (Gore), Kay & Owen (Christchurch), Keith (Invercargill), Shirley & Phil (Timaru), and Paul & Janet (Wellington), the late Peter. Adored Grandfather of Brooke, Renee, Ashlee, Jolene, Jai, Kayla, Sasha, Korban*, Jacob, Jemma, Maia, & Tahlia, the late Korban. Treasured great-grandfather to his 14 great grand-children. Loved son of the late Gezieva & Johannes, Cherished brother and brother in law of Lien & the late Kees and the late Johan, all of Holland.
