Gay passed away peacefully on Friday evening, surrounded by her family, after a short illness, at Southland Hospital. Loved daughter of the late Alice, dearly loved sister and sister-in-law of Joy and Paul Turner-Heaton (Invercargill), loved granddaughter of the late William and Lilian Moore, special Aunty of Lynda (Invercargill), Andrew and Helen Turner-Heaton (Kurow), a loved cousin, and friend to many. A service to celebrate Gay’s life will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Traford Street, Gore, on Saturday, January 23, at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care of Gay by the staff of the Medical Ward at Southland Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations please to the Invercargill SPCA and may be left at the service. Messages to 66 Ariki Avenue, RD 9, Otatara, Invercargill 9879.

DYNES, Catherine Joan (Cathy) (nee Clearwater):
Passed away peacefully at Ribbonwood Country Home, Tapanui, on Saturday, January 16, 2021; aged 86 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Dynes. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Allison and John Fitzgerald (Temuka), Kenneth and Helen Dynes (Wanaka), Daphne (Bess) and the late Kenneth Thomson (Tapanui), and the late cherished Craig. Adored Grandma of Hayden and Maria, Megan and Greg, Nick and Sarah, Duncan and Abia, Morgan, Cherise and Shaun, and her 11 special great-grandchildren. We express our heartfelt thanks to the devoted staff at Ribbonwood Country Home for their wonderful care of Cathy.

A service to celebrate Cathy’s life will be held in the West Otago Community Centre, Suffolk Street, Tapanui, on Wednesday, January 20 at 1.30pm, then leaving for the Tapanui Cemetery.

Saddle sore and weary, it is time to hang up his bike, no more sheep and cattle, no bikes to amaze and create. John has left us now, happy with his work, it is time for him to rest.
