Fire crews were called out to a fire at a house in Invercargill last night.

The fire was at an address on Herriot Street, Richmond.

A Fire Service spokesman says 3 appliances attended, 2 from Invercargill and 1 from Kingswell.

The spokesman told whatsoninvers.nz that the fire was in a roof void of the house.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire.

A Fire Service Investigator has completed an investigation into the cause of the blaze but it’s not yet clear just how the fire started.

The spokesman says it doesn’t look like there is too much damage.

The alarm was raised at 8.50pm by a neighbour to the house.
