Police can now confirm the 23 year-old man who died yesterday as a result of a single vehicle crash in Invercargill was Sootagaoaiga (Sam) Lavea, of Invercargill.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
Updated: 2:57pm Police have confirmed one person died at the scene of the crash, on Kennington Roslyn Bush Rd, after a vehicle crashed into a power pole.
Emergency services are at the scene of a serious vehicle accident on Kennington Roslyn Bush Road.
The road is closed and diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
