Clutha-Southland MP Hamish Walker is hosting a farmer public meeting in Lumsden this Friday.

Mr Walker, along with other members of National’s team, including 2012 Dairy Woman of the Year and MP for Taranaki-King Country Barbara Kuriger and Maureen Pugh, National List MP based in West Coast-Tasman will be attending.

“We are in the process of formulating new policy and are keen to hear what farmers have to say,” Mr Walker said.

“I know it’s an incredibly busy time of year for farmers but having some of our rural team down south provided the opportunity to get everyone together in the same room.”

“Over the next 12 months we are in a listening phase, and as the primary sector is so vital to Clutha-Southland, talking with our farmers seemed a good place to start.”

The meeting will be held in the Lumsden Memorial Hall at 1:15-2:15pm this Friday, September 28.

“Even if you only have five minutes spare, feel free to pop in and voice your thoughts. We’re here to listen.”
