Driver Does Runner After Crashing Car Into Power Pole

Police were called to a crash on State Highway 99, Thornbury at 9.25pm last night when the drivers car collided with a power pole, bringing lines down on to the road.

The driver of the car fled the scene on foot and enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate him – it does appear that he was uninjured though.

The road was closed while the power pole and lines were dealt with.
