Invercargill City Council confirmed in a flyer drop to local business in the Don, Dee & Spey street areas that demolition of the old Todd buildings will begin on Friday 15th July, starting on the Spey street side with the Don street side to follow.
The notice says..
Invercargill City Council is beginning the development of the Don Street Business House at 16 and 24 Don Street, Invercargill.

The new commercial building designed by Invercargill firm McCulloch Architects, will be built over three levels with an area of approximately 3500m2. This building will be home to McCulloch & Partners accountancy firm, Cruickshank Pryde law firm, Three Bean Cafe and Craigs Investment Partners.

- All demolition activity will be undertaken during business hours, 7 days a week and will take approximately one month to complete.
- On street parking maybe restricted on Spey and Don Streets.
- There will be minor detours periodically to footpaths in this area, these will be kept to a minimum where possible.
Invercargill City Council announced in December 2015 that they planned to build new commercial building after purchasing the old Todd Auction rooms site.
