Highly acclaimed international soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is returning to Invercargill for a one off performance.
Arguably our most prolific artist in the world of opera and classical music will perform a special recital celebrating the elegance of the Classical and Romantic eras in March next year.

For many years Dame Kiri Te Kanawa has performed on the stages of the most famous opera houses and concert venues around the world alongside the biggest names in that genre.
Originally from Gisborne Dame Kiri is not a stranger to the south having performed in Invercargill about 9 years ago and previous to that at an open air concert in Central Otago.
Venues Manager Kate Feaver said it was very exciting to be able to provide such a unique evening at the Theatre.
“We anticipate a sell-out crowd for what could be Dame Kiri’s last tour.” Dame Kiri said she was delighted to be invited to perform at the Civic Theatre.
“This is not my first visit to Invercargill but I am really looking forward to it. I hope those who attend will enjoy the musical experience. The songs I have selected are all personal favourites. It is always a pleasure to share my music.”
Dame Kiri will be accompanied by renowned New Zealand pianist Terence Dennis, performing a selection of her favorite arias and songs from Mozart, Handel, Liszt and Puccini to Heggie, Gusatavino and Canteloube.
Mr Dennis is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s finest musicians, and has an international reputation as a highly sought-after accompanist. His performances throughout New Zealand and overseas have received high acclaim.
Tickets for the March 10 concert at The Civic Theatre will go on sale from Tuesday November 3, 2015, from 9am, and are available from TicketDirect and the Invercargill Booking Office, 101 Esk Street, Invercargill. Numbers are strictly limited and are expected to sell fast.
