Two weeks ago the big storm that hit town disrupting and causing the cancelation of the Bluff Oyster Festival also caused damage to the old ‘Southland Building Society’ (now known as SBS Bank) building in Tay street. A brick facade and fire escape become un attached from the building. Today CBD shoppers were treated to a small army of workers setting up safety fencing, blocking Tay street to one lane so work could begin on removing all the bricks.
As the bricks are taken off we start to see the old facade with ‘Society’
