Yesterday the weather played nice for the Esk Street Mall Christmas Market Day with several thousand shoppers flocking to Invercargills City Centre for one big market day.

Esk Street Mall had continuous flow of shoppers, it was great to see lots of families in town, Santa was walking the streets with his helper Alf handing out 400 lollie pops to children.
Many people made comments “I haven’t seen the arcade this busy in 20 years” and “Its great to have town buzzing again”
Buskers played, along with local band Into the East.

With retailers putting out sale racks and tables, food & market dotted along Esk & Dee streets and continuing along Esk Cambridge arcade entrance and then running into the arcade in front of the empty shop spaces, plus pop up shops like a book shop and fashion designer Jane Sutherland.
