State Highway 6, also known as Great North Road, is closed this afternoon after a two-vehicle crash. SH6 Winton is closed between Eglinton Street and Dejoux Road. A detour is in place. The incident was reported shortly after 3pm.

Northbound Traffic turn left onto Dejoux Road, right on Park Street and right on to Eglinton Street. Reverse for Southbound Traffic

St John was notified of this crash on Great North Road, Winton, at 3pm today, responding with three ambulances, one helicopter and one rapid response vehicle. Two patients were assessed at the scene, with both transported to Kew Hospital in Invercargill (by ambulance) in a moderate condition

Motorists were advised to avoid the area while the road remained closed. "Detours are in place," police said, and delays were expected throughout the afternoon.
