Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield is providing an update on Covid-19 ahead of this afternoon’s alert level decision.
Latest from the live update:
- There are nine new cases of Covid-19.
- Eight of the cases are in the community and are all linked to the Auckland cluster.
- One of the confirmed cases is a women in her 30s and is in manged isolation.
- Ten people are in hospital. Three in Auckland city, four in Middlemore, two in North Shore and one in Waikato
- Two people are in intensive care at Middlemore Hospital.
- In the past seven days, almost 100,000 tests have been processed.
- There are now more than 1.77 million people (43 percent of adult population over 15) who have signed up to the Covid tracer app.
- More than 313,000 QR codes have been created.
- Bloomfield says the uptake of the app is very encouraging.
