All nine Southland Rotary Clubs are part of the growing regional support  alongside the  PlaceMakers Southern Scooter Challenge,  fundraiser for The Grace Street Project.

The Southern Scooter Challenge will see around 200 riders and their support crews travel the 194‑kilometre route from Teretonga Raceway to Te Anau on Saturday 21 March.

Members of the Rotary Clubs across Southland will be supporting the event on the day and are co-ordinating a raffle as an added layer of fundraising.

Now in its ninth year, the Southern Scooter Challenge has raised nearly $1 million for charity. Every dollar raised from the 2026 event will support the Grace Street Project, a community-led initiative building an 800m² hub in South Invercargill that will be open to the entire Southland community when complete.
