Have you heard the buzz about electric vehicles?
In a break from our usually scheduled programming, Whats On Invers Classic Cars decided to find out more, heading to the Auckland launch of Tesla New Zealand. What we found would (electric)shock petrolheads! The world’s quickest production car (0-100kmh in under 2.3 seconds!), “self driving”, and the world’s safest car too? Driving on pure electricity sucked straight from a power socket in your garage? All in a five door hatchback, with no visible engine?

With “Car and Driver” deeming the Tesla Model S “car of the century”, and Consumer Reports finding the P85D initially scored 103 out of 100*……we were keen to find out more!

Big thanks to ChargeNet NZ for lending us their two Teslas “QUIET” and “LOLGAS”. We also look forward to the awesome “The Better NZ Trust – Leading The Charge” electric car road trip visiting Invercargill this April!

Come and have a test drive, to experience the phenomenal instant torque and near-silent power of electric cars. Watch this space, What’s On Invers will have full details of the Invercargill and Bluff test drives 🙂

In the meantime, what does it feel like to drive a Tesla? Like being plugged into “The Matrix”, a world where machines drain humanity of our sheer body warmth, and where “Tron” lightcycles blitz laser light to the tunes of Daft Punk. WILD.

Do you have an amazing car that you’d like featured? Please get in touch by email, [email protected] or through our What’s On Invers Facebook page.
