One hundred people throughout Southland will enjoy a brighter Christmas this year,
as Christmas boxes packed full of gifts will be packed at City Impact Church
Invercargill today (Saturday 25th) to be delivered to them in early December.
The outreach, which has occurred annually at City Impact Church for eight years, will
see congregation members fill the boxes for people who have been referred by a
variety of local organisations including schools and disability enterprises, which then
distribute the boxes.
City Impact Church Invercargill Pastor, Daryl Watson, said the boxes reached not
only children but people who experienced disabilities.
“Thanks to the generosity of people – not just from our congregation members but
also staff from other local businesses who’ve been involved for several years – we
are able to bless people and show them they’re valued.
“We receive elementary details of recipients such as their age and likes, which allows
people to contribute gifts that are hand picked and specially giftwrapped in
Christmas themed boxes.
