Hi team, not exactly the way we’d like to end the week but more sad news from the music world with the sudden passing of Fleetwood Mac’s long, long time keyboard player Christine McVie.

McVie died in hospital after a short illness surrounded by her family.

Fleetwood Mac put out this tribute “She was truly one of a kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed.”

Rolling Stone described Christine McVie this way – Christine McVie served as the beating heart of Fleetwood Mac. The band came undone more times than most, but through it all, she was a steady, brilliant presence that kept the group rooted in their purpose.  Definitely on point.

It’s testament to FM’s talent bank that they have three extremely strong crafters of popular music in Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie.  Their individual and collective catalogue of hits speaks for itself.

Does the passing of Christine McVie mean this is the end of Fleetwood Mac as a working band or will Mick Fleetwood try and find a replacement to replace the irreplaceable ?

I say just let the music speak for itself and let it live on.
