Fire crews are attending a chemical spill at the Fonterra plant at Edendale.
The alarm was raised about 10.30 this morning.
A spokesman for FENZ says Fire service 1 crew each from Edendale, Mataura , Wyndham and 2 crews from Invercargill attended.
The spokesman says they will be on scene until everything is resolved.
No injuries have been reported.
The immediate area where the spill occurred has been shut down but the rest of the plant is still operating.
A spokesperson for Fonterra confirmed that there was a leak at the Edendale site and that they were investigating the cause. No one has been harmed and everyone is safe. The site remains fully operational.
