It was a night for celebrations at the National Association of Women in Construction NZ awards evening, with local woman and qualified joiner Tracy Clearwater recognised as an event finalist.

Tracy, along with her boss from Mastercraft Kitchens Southland, made the journey to Auckland to be a part of the evening at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron last month.

Wendy Malloy, who travelled with Tracy, was thrilled with the results.

“Well done Tracy, we are all so proud of you. Tracy is now a qualified joiner and works with us as a designer and detailer,” Wendy says.

The awards programme was designed to celebrate women’s achievements in construction and related industries. According to NAWIC president Jenny Parker, it also focused on recognising organisations that are “active in redressing the gender imbalance in the industry”.
