Southland businesswoman Carla Forbes has been invited as a guest speaker to one of New Zealand’s leading women’s conferences.
She will attend and speak at the incumbent Women in Leadership Summit New Zealand, which will be held in Auckland on June 18-19.
The Women in Leadership Summit celebrates the positive changes in advancing gender diversity while learning from the experiences of women who have succeeded and analyses concrete steps to overcome challenges faced in the leadership journey.
Forbes, president of the Southland Chamber of Commerce and creative director of marketing agency Market South, will speak to the delegation on how to successfully navigate personal branding and marketing and how to network effectively.
She joins an impressive list of other leading New Zealand women to speak at the conference, such as filmmaker Gaylene Preston and chief executive of the National Council of Women Gill Greer, as well as keynote speakers, TV journalist Hilary Barry, Foodie and TV Personality Chelsea Winter and former Prime Minister Rt Hon Dame Jenny Shipley.
Forbes said she felt honoured to even be considered as a guest speaker and was looking forward to sharing her insights with women from all over New Zealand.
“It’s such a privilege to be considered as a leader among so many wonderful and inspiring women and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to being in the presence of these women, stepping up to the challenge of speaking to the delegates and sharing in their wisdom.”
Women in Leadership Summit New Zealand’s Marketing Director Caitriona O’Mahony said they were looking forward to Forbes’ presence at the summit.
“We asked her to be a speaker because we felt she exemplified what it is to be a leader in your industry and region, and to be an active participant in encouraging women to take on leadership responsibilities,” she said.
“We’re delighted she’s going to be with us for the summit, and we’re looking forward to hearing about what insights she has to share.”
