And the winner is… FlourBro!!!
The Pantry Invercargill Team are pleased to announce the recipient of our annual business plan scholarship. Brit McDonald is the founder of FlourBro, the baker behind the absolutely awesome range of sourdough bread baked right here in Invercargill.
Alice O’Brien, manager of The Pantry, said that the Business Plan had been donated as an auction prize by Malloch McClean at the Pantry’s recent fundraising dinner. It was bought by an anonymous donor who wanted the prize to go to a local entrepreneur.
The criteria was twofold – someone making a great product that contributed to the food offering in Southland who could also use the help to develop a plan of how to succeed in their business. Brit, and FlourBro absolutely ticked those boxes, said Alice.
When told of the opportunity, Brit said she felt almost overwhelmed by relief and gratitude. She felt that she really needed some outside help to see where the business could go and how to get there.
We can’t think of anyone more qualified than local business development specialist John Schol to help Brit and can’t wait to see how she grows her business in the future.
A big thanks to Malloch McClean, John Schol and our anonymous donor for the opportunity to support a local business like FlourBro.
